That is great that you and your dad are close enough to learn about the Skydiving sport. This is a great time for you and your dad! I am closer to my skydiving family then I am to most members of my biological family. I am sure this experience will allow you and you dad to become even closer!

Good luck and welcome!

Welcome Josh!

I once assisted on a FJC where we trained a father and son! Was a very special day for both of them.
The father doesnt jump anymore, but he still comes to watch his son jumping most weekends. It's great that you've found something that you can do together on weekends!

Good luck to both of you! You're gonna love it!

Welcome Josh...I'm glad you liked your tandem so much you want to make it a hobby. Especially with your dad. That's pretty awesome!

What progression are you and your dad going to do? For example. static line, AFF, TAF.

Keep us informed with how things are going and if you need any advice, feel free to ask. But I would always ask your instructor first. They know more about your situation then we do. But we would love to assist if we can.

If I stand on my tip toes, I can see the weekend from here!

WOW it's nice to see such a warm welcome! Thanks!

And we will be doing the static line course. I am pretty sure thats the only on our DZ offers. I wish I could do the AFF but it doesn't sound like thats going to happen. I will keep you all updated on whats going on! THANKS!

Josh
Q: Why would someone ever want to jump from a perfectly good airplane?

A: Why Not?

Josh, one thing you will learn in skydiving is this,...

skydiving is all about hanging around your new friends and family and having a blast everytime you see them. The jumping is just an awesome bonus. ;)B|

if you don't understand what I mean by this, lets just say its already started in this thread you posted. ;):)

Welcome Josh, it's going to be what...Memorial Day weekend when we get you and your dad on to AFF? ;) And you better not listen to anything you read on this site without running it past me first. B| Give me a call later this week about the upcoming weekend. Right now it looks like we're going to shut down so I and some other instructors can go help out our friends in Montana, but that's not yet written in stone.

As to the question Josh was trying to answer, his progression is IAD to the clear & pull followed by four levels of AFF. He and his dad are matching each other jump for jump, with two their first day and three more yesterday. They're good guys and it's a lot of fun to be a part of. ;)

It's been said over and over again, here, ...and I can't help myself either...congrats on getting into this great sport with your dad. I wish I was able to share something that means so much with mine; appreciate your time with him, Josh.

Stay safe and have fun!

Hey Josh, this is your dad. I'm so glad to be able to start this amazing sport with you. It's nice to see all the cool comments here about us doing this together. It is a lot of fun, and I'm going to miss it when you go to school. But then I'll start your little brother jumping next summer when he's old enough then we can all do it together.

Thank You to all of you who sent Josh such nice comments. We are just loving this sport and cant' wait to get back up and start our AFFB|
