quig22 0 #1 July 29, 2007 i really really want to jump, but have had a fear of heights and tend to get sick on roller coasters. Ive heard that its completely different and not a stomach churning kind of drop? Am I just making excuses, or is it something to think about?
Attilla 0 #2 July 29, 2007 I recently did my first jump, and there was nothing "stomach churning" about it. It felt nothing like a roller coaster. However, the parachute ride after the free fall will test your fear of heights. You have a lot of time up there to think about how far it is down to the ground. ttoy 0 #3 July 29, 2007 I just did my first jump yesterday. I didn't have the stomach feeling either. I did feel sick after it was all done... my legs felt a little weak. I have no regrets in doing it. Go for it!
skymama 37 #4 July 29, 2007 Welcome to the forums! It's not stomach churning because you are jumping from a moving object not a stationery object. Look up "terminal velocity" here on the forums and you will probably find the scientific explanation. If you BASE jump or jump from a helicopter or balloon, you definitely feel the stomach churn. Some of us like that. Don't let a silly thing like fear stop you. Just do it, you'll be proud of yourself.
