buba07 0 #1 August 9, 2007 Hi everyone, So chuffed to find this site. Anyway, i've just done my 4th static line which was my second dummy pull. It went fine but i seemed to be more nervous than ever? Up to now i've just buzzed going up and jumping out, but having the pressure of wanting to do a good dummy made me start to think too much about the fact i was throwing myself out of a plane?! Is this normal? Thanks Freefallphil.
wildfan75 1 #2 August 10, 2007 Welcome! I, too, did s/l. I showed up on a Friday thinking I was going to get another night to do my last PRCP and 1st freefall. But when I showed up they grabbed two student rigs and said, "We'll get you two in tonight!". The thing to remember when doing your 1st FF is that its absolutely nothing different than your last three skydives. You're exiting the same, you're pulling the same...everything is the same (except for that little fact that you HAVE to pull this time). All the feelings that you're having is normal. It took me awhile before I stopped thinking for about half the plane ride "What the f*^% am I doing?" (the other half I was thinking emergency procedures). It comes back every once in awhile but its totally worth it. Have fun and let us know how your first ff goes!!! Dont' forget to bring beer!

David9 0 #4 August 11, 2007 I'm not having any limits on when i want to progress- where i'm gonna be by 10 jumps 20 jumps, it'll just happen. maybe you're putting too much pressure on yourself.
rygon 0 #5 August 13, 2007 My 1st jump was AFF lvl1 and i had no clue what to expect which made it a little easier. My second jump was by far the worst feeling whilst getting to altitude....had so many emotions running though my by the end of my 1st jump i didnt know whether to stay at it or not...in the end i decided to do my AFF and see how it feel afterwards. So my 2nd jump i felt so nervous thinking i will muck it up etc that i was too negative even when the jump went fine. Afterwards i realised that im doing this off my own back for fun so i should just enjoy it...whether i pass or not i have still made a jump. With that attitude i was a lot calmer and enjoyed it more. birdshit 0 #6 August 20, 2007 Nervous? Why would you be nervous? All you are doing is jumping out of an friggin airplane!!! Hello? I would be worried (and envious) if you weren't nervous.. Don't worry! Stay away from coffee, ritalin, red bull, meth, tea, cocaine, cigarretts, 'power drinks', etc, etc, and anything else that is a stimulant. If you are amped up on the ground, you will be even more nervous when the adrenaline starts pumping. Thats the only advice I can give. It takes faith in the engineering of the parachute, faith in your safety gear, faith in the instructors and faith in yourself. If you have those four things you will do perfect. Good luck, blue skies and see you out there!
