SWEEEET 0 #3 January 9, 2008 It is VERY cool...I love it so much...I don't remember living without knowing about the sport thanks in part to the coolest dad ever...DANNYDAN...he started when I was seven and I've wanted to do it ever since...finally got the chance last September...the 9th to be exact...three days after my 18th birthday! It was a blast...did my first TWO static line jumps that day...I jump with amazing people and always look forward to my weekends out there at the DZ...just got back from ZHILLS last Saturday...no jumping for me but had a great time hangin with everybody!... I'm not weird...just cool that's all...!!!! *SWEEEET*
Joea 0 #4 January 10, 2008 I've already started talking my 13 year old daughter into jumping when she's old enough! Way to go dannydan!... and Congratulations Sweeeet! I feel silly saying "welcome" when you have more jumps than me... but WELCOME!It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. - Clarence Worley from "True Romance"
slobuzzard 0 #5 January 11, 2008 How does your wife feel about that? My daughter and I set up our tandem ( first skydive ) without tellin' Mama. Sorry Babe, but I can't let your fears be our fears. My daughters not really interested in taking it further yet, but she loves coming out to the DZ and taking pictures. My wife won't come out to the drop zone yet but she bought me an altimeter for Christmas. Funny thing is I think wants to encourage me because she knows how happy it makes me. It would be really cool to jump side by side with your daughter wouldn't it Joe Cheers

Joea 0 #8 January 12, 2008 She just looks at me and smiles... I think the thought freaks her out right now, but I bet she'll come around in a few years! It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. - Clarence Worley from "True Romance"
grannyinthesky 0 #9 January 12, 2008 Has she seen a video of you jumping? My 8 year old grandson loves watching the one of my tandem and can't wait to try it himself. dannydan 5 #10 January 12, 2008 Is your name really "Pearl"?
grannyinthesky 0 #11 January 12, 2008 No, it's a nickname I picked up years ago and sorta like. Several people her have picked it up from some where (My myspaced page, maybe?) so it's followed me here. It's a little less elderly than the granny label, but that's part of who I am as well. My name is really Patricia and it's a lot stuffier and formal than i am."safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! dannydan 5 #12 January 12, 2008 Well I like both Pearl and Patricia GRANNY!!!Hey.... you can start a company called PPG Glass or PPG Paints!!!
grannyinthesky 0 #13 January 12, 2008 I just generally use the same name I am called, except for when some of my brown nosing students try the professor thing. Math is intimidating enough without them calling me professor. A guy that used to post here suggested I pick a nickname before one attached itself to me, so Pearl is what I'm sort of shooting for."safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! Joea 0 #14 January 12, 2008 She actually shot the video of my first jump! My brother, who's a photographer, took the pictures. I use one for my avatar. <-------It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. - Clarence Worley from "True Romance"
grannyinthesky 0 #15 January 12, 2008 Very cool. I bet the skydiving grows on her. Seeing your enthusiasm will be contagious. I know it was for me. The day I did my tandem there were 3 kids who jumped ahead of me. They were like kids at Christmas waiting for Santa as we were getting to altitude. I think that started the spark in me that seems to have grown into a bonfire."safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!!
