Converted1 0 #1 June 6, 2008 Hi everyone, my name is Mike and I live in N.E. Ohio. I am making the switch from hang gliding to sky diving. HG'ing was just not "it" for me. Where I flew, there were a group of sky divers that were there every weekend and from the first time I saw them having a blast and laughing and yelling I knew where I needed to be. Even my wife said I was doing the wrong sport for me. So my first lesson is Tuesday @ Cleveland Parachute Center. Cant wait.. Sorry for the long rambling post.. SkyPainter 0 #6 June 11, 2008 Hi - I am also new to the sport, and anxious to get going. Aside from studying everything I can read about it, I will be doing some wind tunnel work tomorrow night. I figure whatever I can do to help stay stable in the air, and get my tandem instructor, myself, and other jumpers near us down safely is plus! I had often thought of Hang Gliding, but it seems as if there is no recourse if the equipment has a primary failure, or control is suddenly lost. At least with skydiving, I will have TWO parachutes, and hopefully the training and composure to overcome a failure. Thanks for your post - it settles my mind about gliding versus jumping!
