Blue42 0 #1 June 19, 2008 Well, my first skydiving experience was beyond awesome. Nothing could have prepared me for the actual experience. Now I just can't wait to do it again. Unfortunately, I don't know how soon that will be. I would like to save up for the Aff class, but that will take me forever. Debt sucks! The person that went with me is going to take the classes as soon as possible too. I thought that I would get skydiving out of my system after jumping. . . I wasn't even sure that I would like it. . . but it just left me wanting more. TI was great . . . weird sense of humor . . . couldn't tell is he was joking or not at times.Carpe Diem! dreaming13000 1 #4 June 19, 2008 I am in the same boat as you. Financially speaking, the decision to do the accelerated freefall has been a rough one, I have a second job, I am cutting corners and eliminating expenditures I can do without....all for this need to jump out of a plane over and over and over again lol.... We only live once, debt will always be there (if you live in a debt-based society ;) do it one AFF level at a time and make them count. (this is how I justify this decision to myself) Everyone needs something to strive for! Hope it all works out for you, the sky is the limit! peace & blue skies"A man only gets in life what he is believing for, nothing more and nothing less" Kenneth Hagen
Chubba 0 #5 June 20, 2008 Welcome to the forums Quote do it one AFF level at a time and make them count. (this is how I justify this decision to myself)Entirely possible, I did my AFF over nearly 6 months (anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks between each stage), 9 jumps with no fails. When you spend 4 weeks saving up that $200 for the next stage, you try REALLY hard not to fail :) Find a dropzone that doesn't mind you coming out and not jumping if you don't have the funds... learn how to pack, talk to other jumpers, watch people landing and enjoy the social aspect of the sport. Blue42 0 #6 June 20, 2008 Grannyinthesky . . . you have been an inspiriation to me as I have been reading through the treads! Awesome . . . Thanks for all of the advice. I started selling some awesom skin care thinking that maybe that would have some good return. I can also pick up some more extracurriculars during the school year to earn some $$$. I am just afraid that since I will not be able to do it as religiously as I would like that I may not fit into it well. I think that my goal may be to work hard at saving this year and then I can spend more time at a dz over the summer. . . I can justify spending an entire weekend there a lot easier if I have time for my family during the week when I am not working. I don't know if this makes any sense. I have to find out more details for the specific DZ. I just hate to have to wait so long. Carpe Diem!
