HOOPT 0 #3 July 8, 2008 Quote don't down-play your military jumps. So true Kelly. Roger, those five jumps earned you the silver wings you "wear". I, too, earned my wings, but did a few more than the initial five. 48 to be exact and I miss it. Its been seven years from my last jump and I can not wait. Itll be weird not waiting for the green light and the boot on your rear end which would follow. See you at the door.-Jose ================================================== US Paratrooper....the ORIGINAL Precision Guided SMART Weapon!! ==================================================

mr_music11 0 #9 November 12, 2008 Sooo.. curious.. if you're already @5k+ @ground level. What flight level to exit at? How much free fall time? Thanks... blue skiesIf flying is piloting a plane.. then swimming is driving a boat. I know why birds sing.. I skydive.
ASTKU 1 #10 November 13, 2008 They only go to 10000ft in boulder (colorado skysports) but in longmont (mile hi skydiving) they go to 12500ft. Almost the same elevation, I think a couple hundred feet difference. We don't fall out of the sky any faster or slower (or at least its negligible) than at sea level. The real difference however is under canopy. If you are jumping at sea level and come jump here its pretty much like downsizing. You come in a lot faster. IMO flare is not as great either.... I was out jumping in San Diego after a bunch of jumps in longmont and my canopy felt super slow. It seriously felt like it wouldn't turn fast at all.
