RickNC 0 #1 August 13, 2008 Hello all. I started in about 97 and earned my A license in Raeford, NC and jumped with the 82nd Airborne Parachute Club. Due to overseas assignment I left the area and never got back into the sport. I realized at my new work location a few months ago that there is a small DZ right behind my work. I was out back and heard a slider flapping in the wind. Looked up and I had a realization that I wanted to get back into the sport. Since it has been 8 years since my last jump I was not sure what to do. I got my license renewed first of all and spoke with the DZ owner. He wants to go over some things on the ground and then take me up on a level 4 AFF jump. Sold all my gear years ago and wife was just laid off so now I am looking at what I can sell to purchase some used gear lol I was in the army airborne for several years and have 50+ military static line jumps for whatever that is worth. Course that is a totally different animal and was more pain than pleasure. Any advice for someone who has been out this long? Thanks.
