Ping 0 #1 August 21, 2008 So I've been talking for years about my big 30th birthday - "I'm going skydiving!" Well, this past weekend the day was finally here, and 5 of my friends and I took the plunge. We met Jim at www.skydiveky.com on Sunday, and had a great day. I did my first tandem around 1230 or so. The bad part is, I'm now hooked. Myself and a friend of mine from WV are planning on jumping again Spring '09 (my wife couldn't jump Sunday because she's prego with our 2nd - made us promise to jump with her then), and hopefully I can take the next step to learning all I can in this sport. I can't wait to jump again, and it's only been days since my first! I'm assuming that's normal right? At any rate, HI GUYS - I can't wait to soak up all the information I can over the next few months. Any information you guys want to send my way on steps/money needed to be able to jump solo will be very much appreciated!Ping

skymama 37 #4 August 22, 2008 Welcome to the forums! Here is a link that will provide some information on starting to skydive. Your dz will have a list of the costs of their available training methods. After that, you'll have to spend money on your own gear, which can get pretty expensive. It's not a cheap sport, but well worth it! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
