CONGRATS! I also passed my Cat B this weekend, and jumped my Cat C-1. It only gets better ... you CAN get stuck on a category for a bit (I jumped Cat B 3 times before I nailed it!) but then you move on again. It is a continuing process ...just keep jumping!

That's what I thought. I've now talked to probably a hundred skydivers, in person, mind you, and they all confirm what I was thinking the WHOLE TIME........

WE may get old, but SKYDIVING NEVER GETS OLD!

WOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

(And it has been confirmed, by MANY, that my "woooo haaaaaaaa"s are audible from 5000 ft. ! Of course, it is usually stated more as "Who was that IDIOT hollering "WOOOO HAAAA"? I heard that from when they popped at 5000!)

If that's what an "idiot" is, then we need more idiots in the sport.
:D:D:)
You got it ...it's all about the fun.
WOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

It's true, I'm prone to bouts of extreme loudness when I get the feeling that I'm about to do something great.

This is the greatest thing in the world to me, I haven't failed a jump yet, and am headed off to Raeford, NC next weekend to finish AFF, and have 20 minutes of tunnel time at "ParacleteXP" built in to the deal.

My goal was to have my "A" license by Christmas, and it looks like I am DEFINATELY going to make it!

So HEEEEEEEEERE GOES!!!!!!!::::::

Congrats. I just got my Cat A and Cat B jumps done today out at Raeford. We had to wait till late in the day for the winds to calm down, but I got two jumps in. It was absolutely awesome. I had my wife and son out there. I was so zoned in on executing my dive flow, that I didn't see much else. I love driving the canopy. I think I might be able to get a hold of it pretty quickly. I was able to stand up my landing on my second jump. It is exactly like my instructor told me. When I think that I am 10 feet off of the ground and ready to flare, wait about a 1/2 a second to a full second and then flare. I loved every minute of it. I too have lots of tunnel time and think that it helps a bunch. I have been able to get out of the plane and stable very quickly. I can't wait for my single instructor jump and then my solo's.

US Army, eh? My stepdad is a retired Major, helo pilot, 4 tours Nam, 2 in Korea. Black Horse.

Last week my jumpmasters were Sergeant Harry Parrish, and his Colonel from the Screaming Eagles Special Ops, from Ft. Campbell. Nice guys.

If you're at Raeford this weekend, I'll buy you a beer. Or six. I won't be hard to find, my "WOO HAAA"s are audible from +5000 ft.

The weather looks perfect, raining Friday (Tunnel day) then mostly clear Sat and clear ALL DAY Sunday.

Cleared for Cat "C" last weekend, so that leaves me 6 jumps to go. Should be done Sunday, if the weather holds.

I will be leaving to go out of town on Saturday or else I would hit you up. I was out there today getting a few more jumps in. The day turned out to be rather nice. I will be jumping again tomorrow just to get my jump numbers up. This stuff is pretty fun and the crowd out there at Raeford is really a good group to hang out with. Good luck this weekend on your jumps. I hope the weather holds for you.

Got a few jumps in at Raeford, cleared to E-3. Solo exits, diving exits, barrel rolls, backflips, and 40 minutes of tunnel time....

Had one hard opening and some nice line twists, cleared those, one unstable exit (with instructor) got right on that, and severely bruised my ass sliding in once, but kept jumping. (Had to, hurt too much to sit down)......... Also had my first PLF, and whaddayaknow, the training works. Saved my ass from getting MORE bruised, and PLFs definately don't hurt as much.

Got yelled at for breaking landing pattern to hit my target (yeah, I may have been a little too aggressive, but everyone else was down while I was still at 1000, and I got within 6 inches of the target, but never-the-less, lesson learned). Bonehead move. Need to remember PATTERN DISCIPLINE. I felt like an idiot, but that's why it's called "learning".....

Other than some newbie errors, great weekend. Everyone at Raeford Parachute Center is AWESOME, and thanks for all of the support out there. Great coaches, great instructors, good crowd, everyone is super-supportive, and especially thanks to Tony, the owner. That guy is a REAL class act.

Shouts out to Navy Special Ops, The US Army Golden Knight guys that I got to jump with, and everyone else that shared a bench on the PAC with me. Thanks for all of the input, as well. Helped me out a LOT. Respect!

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Blue skies, everyone. I hope to enjoy this for MANY, MANY years.
