jclalor 12 #2 October 20, 2008 Welcome, you picked a great sport!! Remember to just have fun during AFF, although easier said than done, just relax and breath during FF That said, you will do great and keep us posted how it goes.

adrenaline_eri7 0 #4 October 21, 2008 well i signed up w/ carolina skydiving. i shoulda just signed up w/ raeford since i can skip the tandum jumps and go straight to the AFF course....oh well...my plan is to do that tandum and then from then on out, go with Raeford......i'm doing the windtunnel this weekend w/ raeford. :) -ash-Ashley (adrenaline_eri7)
LOSTandCRAZY 0 #5 October 21, 2008 I will be in Raeford this weekend as well. Tunnel Friday, finishing AFF on Saturday and Sunday. I have 5 jumps already, my goal is to be "A" licensed by Christmas. I'll be the old fat guy screaming "WOOOOO HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" all the time. You've not only picked the best sport, but you've picked the sport that eats other sports for BREAKFAST!"Get these balls!" adrenaline_eri7 0 #8 October 21, 2008 lmao thats great! haha :) hey,. question. if i were to jump tandum @ carolina skydiving, do you think that jump would count as one of my jumps at raeford if they write it down in a log book?-Ashley (adrenaline_eri7)
LOSTandCRAZY 0 #9 October 21, 2008 Since Raeford doesn't use Tandem progression, I doubt it. Even though the tandems I have are in my logbook (and I have three of those) the only thing Raeford will count will be my Cat "A" and "B" jumps. Don't rush yourself in this sport, let the instructors progress you. That being said: The canopy flow I followed in my last jump were Cat "H" flows. No radio. Had to do front riser turns, and rear riser flares. Was going to practice flaring with one toggle and a rear riser, but I ran out of altitude for that one. Too many 720's with the right front riser, lol. God, that is the most fun....... Plus, we planned my landing pattern, and I executed it as I was instructed. Found my way to the point I needed to be at the 1000' mark, the rest was easy. Simple physics once you calculate the descent rate using your altimeter. I flew a 240, down from a 260 as well, this time. A little faster, but still, predictable. I also had traffic to MY direct 6:00 (meaning, directly below me) so I adjusted at 400' to her starboard, and watched her land, so at 200, I was clear. I stuck my Cat "A" and "B" landings, as well. To me, the canopy part is the easiest, I guess, having flown small planes and having a dad that's a pilot, I already understand wind direction vs. landing pattern, and so forth. What I need to work on is my freefall, I want to progress faster. But, that's what the tunnel is for. I may see you next weekend, if not, BLUE SKIES!!!!!!!!! (WOO HAAA!!)"Get these balls!"
