itsnickd 0 #1 August 10, 2009 Hi, I've been lurking here for at least a few months now and thought id introduce myself. I'm in WA state, about an hour and a half north of Seattle, started getting into kiteboarding last year and even though I've never rode a board yet I absolutely enjoy boosting myself into the air. My birthday is next Tuesday and I've been kind of looking for the next big thing to try which brought me here, I'm only turning 26 so its not like its one of the big ones to celebrate but I don't normally do anything on my birthday so I kind of wanted to start a trend this year of trying something awesome. I got my idea this year after watching National Geographic Nomad Base Jumping/Skydiving videos. Anyways, it looks like this is the closest dz: http://www.skydivesnohomish.com/ anyone ever gone there (the reviews on this site are pretty mixed and the newer ones don't sound good)? I was going to call them up in the next day or so and see how busy they are next Tuesday, although its supposed to rain a lot I think so hopefully that doesn't ruin my plan :( Actually it looks like they arent open next tuesday so it looks like ill be going here: http://www.skydivekapowsin.com I was also watching skydiving videos on youtube and I noticed most of the videos the camera guy seems like he is almost right in the persons face during the freefall, I was thinking about having them film mine (because well why not) but I'd also like to try and enjoy it without a camera in my face, I guess that's a question for the dz though probably.. Anyways, hope the weather clears up next week and I have a story and a video to post on here.. -Nickd

HoldtheIce 0 #3 August 23, 2009 My home LZ is Snohomish. Granted, I'm very new to the sport and only have 4 jumps out of Snohomish, but I think the instructors are very professional and treat all students with the best courtesy and respect. Equipment is great. Besides, there are some awesome views from Snohomish. Ya have the Puget Sound to the West, Mt Backer to the North, Glacier Peak to the East, and Mt. Rainier to the South. In my humble opinion, ya can’t get better scenery. I hope you can jump there. I don’t think you will regret it!!Cause they know, and so do I, The high road is hard to find A detour to your new life, Tell all of your friends goodbye

Are you trying at Snohomish? if so which route did you go: http://www.skydivesnohomish.com/skycontstud.htm ? (it looks like you can do either static line or tandem) Id like to get licensed but im not sure if I want to do it at Snohomish or Kapowsin, Kapowsin is quite a drive for me because I'm in Bellingham but they are very professional and very experienced, when I was there everyone said they had at least 5,000 jumps.... Do you have aim or msn messenger or anything? maybe we could chat...
