Olaf_Norski 0 #1 February 13, 2010 Hi everyone. First post to the forum. I started my skydiving in 1974. That was in Norway at the Norwegian Technical University`s Skydiving Club, Trondheim Norway. About 75 jumps with 28ft TU mod or LL mod surplus gear. B-3 or 4 main and belly reserve. My next 50 jumps was with my own gear, bought from ParaGear;SuperPro Harness with 2 pin Jerry Bird main bag and a PopTop flat belly mount reserve container. Main chute i bought from USSR a UT-14 or as the marking say YT-15. State of the art at the time. LOL. May of 09 2 tandems at Skydive Twin Cities and AFF early Aug. Graduated from AFF and have 23 jumps on squares including AFF. Wondering if I should go to the Expo at DeLand. Looks like there is a lot to see and learn. Probably need a refresher since my last jump was on sept 30 -09. Minnesota is to cold for that now.(I think) Olaf. Man Small, Why Fall? Skies Call, Thats All.POPS # 10971 Man Small, Why Fall? Olaf_Norski 0 #6 February 14, 2010 It looks like I am comming down there..YES! Is there any possibilities for a "get current" jump sequence during all this hoopla. And are there tandems available during this. Might be bringing a friend that has one tandem in May 09 at Skydive Twin Cities. She would want to go if all possible. We will fly down Wed 10 and back Sun 14. OlafPOPS # 10971 Man Small, Why Fall? Skies Call. Thats All.

I would assume that the dz is going to have the usuall AFF and tandem guys milling about, but your best bet would be to call them directly and talk to them. The number is 386-738-3539. Olaf_Norski 0 #10 February 15, 2010 Lot and lots of changes for sure. I used to be one of the designated reserve packers at our club( rounds in 2 pin belly mount surplus containers). One of our main instructors came back from studies in Cal,USA. He brought back a Paraplane which is the first "wing" i ever saw flying. It was in a B-4 looking mainbag with a regular (looked like) belly reserve mounted on top so it was a true piggyback rig. However it had the regular D-rings in the front so he could also add a "club reserve on the front. Which he did and in one weekend he had to pull them 3 out of 5 jumps. This did not encourage me for the squares. NOW it is another world. I enjoy it alot and will be staying in the sport for sure.POPS # 10971 Man Small, Why Fall? Skies Call. Thats All. JDutton 0 #12 February 15, 2010 Hi Olaf! I got back into the sport last August after 33 years off. They made me make 2 static line jumps then promoted me back to freefall (No AFF at my DZ). I used to think everyone was nuts for using squares only (a square RESERVE? - What are they thinking?), but I've become a believer. I'm having a blast! Can't wait for the Spring Thaw!
