gregmanila 0 #1 March 9, 2010 Hello everyone. I just did my first jump (static line) in Cebu, Philippines two days ago. To be honest, I don't think I was prepared enough before my jump, and I didn't know what to expect for the landing. I hit the ground harder than I expected and my right arm hurts bad but isn't broken. Should be fine in a week. I'm not sure if I should try another jump this summer (it's summer here until mid-May, after that it's typhoon season, not good for jumping). I'm sure my first jump taught me a lot, but I think I need to learn more from people who've done hundreds/thousands of jumps, aside from my instructor. Anyway, I'm here to ask some questions on how to improve my chances of survival with no injuries next time. Where do I post my questions? THANKS! skymama 37 #2 March 9, 2010 Welcome to the forums! The forums are divided into different categories. If you have training questions, go to Safety and Training but do a search first to see if your question has been answered before. What did your instructor say about your landing and how you could have prevented your injury? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
gregmanila 0 #3 March 10, 2010 He says I probably pulled my full "brakes" too early, so I slowed down initially, and then crashed. It certainly felt like it. Is it possible to land softly without fully engaging the toggles? Since I really don't have the timing right yet, it seems like a better idea to be sure that I'll be landing semi-hard than risking pulling the toggles too far too early, and ending up crashing really hard.
