Cacophony 0 #1 June 3, 2004 I've owned my Vector 3 for about 3.5 years now. So far this year I have had my right toggle come unstowed on opening 3 times so far this year. A friend of mine who is sponsored by Relative Workshop feels as though it is a potential design flaw in the rig and/or risers that cause this to happen. He has the same thing happen on occasion. Up until this year I never had a problem like this with the exact same risers. Could it potentially be a wear and tear aspect. They are still in great condition. Anyone else have this type of problem?
koz2000 1 #2 June 3, 2004 Do you have the Tru-lock toggles or another brand. I had it happen once on an old after-market set of risers but never had a problem on the Tru-locks or the original RWS risers. I don't think there's a design flaw at all with the rig. Call the company and ask to talk Jennifer, she's in charge of parts.______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. NM156 0 #3 June 3, 2004 I own a Micron with approximately 300 jumps on it (with original tru-lock risers) and my right toggle came unstowed once at the end of last season and twice last week end. While I was packing (after the second time the right brake released), I inspected the right risers and noticed that one of the stitches holding the pin on the toggle to the risers was "gone". My rigger put another stitch where the original one was and after 7 more jumps last week end... no more problem. Ask your rigger to take a look at your risers. GravityGirl 0 #4 June 4, 2004 How many jumps do your risers have on them? Risers are a maintenance item. Just like lines, Pilot Chutes, D-Bags, closing loops, etc. After three years, by all means have them inspected by your rigger and maintenance anything that it needs. Could be as simple as a small stitch. Should cost no more than some new rubber bands and a couple new closing loops. Every winter I like to maintenance my gear. Change out all the rubber bands. Check the loops on my D-Bag. Check the grommets. Change the closing loop. Check my PC. Check my risers. Check Slinks. Check Slider Bumbers. Check grommets on slider. You know. Freshen her up for the upcoming season. If you haven't already done so. Do this now. Just like a tune up for your car. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
