hokierower 0 #1 February 25, 2011 Hello to all! Took the FJC at Skydive San Marcos last Saturday with my girlfriend who was in town, but unfortunately the winds kept us from jumping. I'm going back this Saturday and will kick off what I hope is a future source of adrenaline with the Category A & B jumps. I've been real busy reading the SIM and the boards here trying to get as much info as possible. Lots of respect for the SSM operation, my FJC instructors were great and I can't wait to jump for the first time!

I would like to refer you to a video of what NOT to do.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwK8zwf3Leg There are some very valid comments with the video and there is a thread here that expresses some interesting views as well. hokierower 0 #5 February 26, 2011 No jumping today . Cloud cover didn't look like it was going to break and the winds started picking up after lunch. Two weekends in a row where the weather has failed to cooperate.
KevinP 0 #6 February 27, 2011 I was going to jump, but a nasty low pressure system came though. This is the 2nd time I will see SNOW in southern Arizona. I just don't get it. Next weekend, though, is going to be BEAUTIFUL!! I'm going to try to get in three on Sunday. I hope next weekend works out for you, too!Sincerely, Kevin

It was especially weird because yesterday it was high-70s, blue cloudless skies, and winds were MAYBE 5 kts. How it goes from perfect to crap overnight will always baffle me. KevinP 0 #8 February 27, 2011 I was stationed at Fort Hood for six years and could never figure out the weather. It was tough for those paid to do it, as well. Sincerely, Kevin

hokierower 0 #11 March 4, 2011 Don't think I'll be able to make a jump on Friday after work, too far of a drive and dealing with traffic. Hopefully the storms roll through quickly but the wind forecast has got me worried bout Saturday afternoon. Sunday is looking pretty good though! Managed to go 3 for 3 and am cleared for my Lvl 4. Don't know if I'm shivering from the cold ride home on my bike or all the adrenaline finally leaving my system.
