DudeNZ 0 #1 March 14, 2011 Hi Jumpers. I am a SkyDiving Newbie, but did a 16000 foot tandem two weeks ago and I am hooked. Completely addicted to this sport.. I never thought I would be but I just cant stop thinking about it. I should be working but I am just watching Skydiving videos on youtube and reading articles on drop zone... Now Im just waiting on my local DZ in Auckland to start a SL first Jump course so I can start down the path of this wonderful sport. REALLY looking forward to the unknown start date. Happy Jump's People... Andy
KevinP 0 #2 March 14, 2011 Welcome, Andy! Your story sounds somewhat like mine, but it took me almost a year from tandem to FJC. My friends call me obsessed. My brother says I should have never been allowed to jump, since it's all I talk about now. Some people just don't get it. Hope you get a date soon. It's worth every ounce of energy and the cost. Clear skies! Sincerely, Kevin
DudeNZ 0 #3 March 14, 2011 G'Day Kevin, Being obsessed is fine when it comes to this sport. What other sport can give you this same feeling or rush. People REALLY dont understand unless they have done it. If my local DZ doesnt get itself sorted soon. I will have to go to a further out DZ to do a AFF course. Everyone here seems to be doing AFF but SL seem to be rare. Are you based in the US Kevin? What is your cost you are paying for your training? Hope your training goes well mate... Cheers Andy
skymama 37 #4 March 14, 2011 Welcome to the forums! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
KevinP 0 #5 March 15, 2011 Quote Are you based in the US Kevin? What is your cost you are paying for your training? Here is what is listed on the Skydive Arizona website. I'm doing it a little differently (didn't have $2,000 up front), so I'll pay a little more. That tunnel time is a HUGE benefit. I mean, it makes it marginally more expensive than DZs without, but it's well worth it. Quote Basic Package Phase I: * 1 Tandem * 10 minutes of tunnel time * First Jump Course * USPA membership (price will vary if foreign residency) * ASP Levels 1-7 * 1 ASP rejump or Solo * 3 Solo Jumps * Packing Class Price: $1906 Good luck finding a DZ soon! I'll be jumping Saturday. I hope to get L3-L5 knocked out. Last time out, two jumps exhausted me. HahaSincerely, Kevin
