Stiletto vs. Katana

Recommended Posts

Just wondering from those who have flown both what they think of the flight characteristics of the Katana to the Stiletto. I've heard some nice things about the Katana and am going to test drive one here soon but was wondering what others think.

I've heard the Katana provides a more rigid wing than the Stiletto in turbulence. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks and blue skies.

I wouldn't say it's any better than a Stiletto in turbulance, however I never had a problem with my old Stilettos in turbulance.

The Katana is GROUND HUNGRY in a good way if you like swooping. It won't get you back from quite the long spot a Stiletto will. It's fun and swoops well. Lots of lift, PD type openings.

Definately not a replacement for the Stiletto, but a great canopy just the same.

What's your wingload on the Katana?

Eleven years later... He probably doesn't even know, that he ever jumped any of the canopies by now.

In case anyone's curious, I'm guessing I loaded my modified T-10 at approximately 0.32. Couldn't get that damn thing to dive no matter what I did. B|

Both canopies are still being built? His question is still valid and this is a great place to ask. Plus, he clearly spent some time digging around. How about we cut him some slack?

When flying outside vid, I like the Stiletto because it will get me back when the last TI out the door takes us long. I found the Katana ground hungry for my taste. As stated above, it's gonna depend on your personal preferences.

LOL the dizzy.com paradox.

If you ask a question "Dude, that's been asked a million times before, try the search"

If you search " Dude way to harpoon that thread up from 5 years ago ...hahaha"

You can't win. ;)
