hawkeye02 0 #1 June 13, 2012 2 tandems and 2 static line jumps. AFF here I come! My two static jump landings were pretty shitty. Landed on my rear both times. I think I am flaring too late . hawkeye02 0 #3 June 13, 2012 I'm okay little sore today, but my instructors did say my flare was a little late. I was instructed to flare approx 15 ft off the deck. The ground came up pretty quick. I was worried about flaring too soon. I suppose it takes a few times to get the jist of it. Does your body slightly pendulum out from under the canopy during the flare? mahonie10 0 #4 June 14, 2012 This might help to better understand flare charcteristics of the canopy. he seems to know what he's talking about. but continue to talk to everyone at your DZ and gather as many tips as you can, and find out what works best for you. Take this with a grain of salt because i'm still a newb. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct5V9G_WIuA
popsjumper 2 #5 June 14, 2012 You missed two good opportunities to practice PLFs! My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
hawkeye02 0 #6 June 14, 2012 That's what I was thinking too. The other day I retrieved a frisbee off the top of my roof and used a PLF to get down. On my two canopy rides I was fully committed to PLF's but my feet were in front of me Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars. hawkeye02 0 #7 June 15, 2012 Thanks a lot man, very informative video. I like technical explanations it helps me visualize what is going on. On my descents I was no brakes at 16ft to full brakes thru the last 15 ft. My question is.....at what point do people go from full flight to a braking condition on decent?Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.
