aeio540 0 #1 September 23, 2012 I've done the flying and worn a parachute but never used it. I've done some research on it and finally got to do it this last week for the wife's birthday. Now I can't stop thinking about it. Like one of those things that's like "Why haven't I been doing this all along". So here I am, a new addict.

My thought after my first tandem was more like, "Okay, I tried it, but it's not like I'll do that again..." A few weeks later, I did another tandem, and a few weeks after that, started AFF... ...talk about an addiction sneaking up on you! My blog with the skydiving duck cartoons. Lazarus_762 0 #5 September 24, 2012 In my case, there was nothing sneaky about it. As soon as we landed, I knew I was hooked! It was about as subtle as a punch in the mouth. I told the JM, "Dude, I am in SO much trouble...now I gotta figure out how to pay for lessons!" I've been broke ever since. Accelerated Financial Failure...you have been warned! It's worth every penny Airtwardo:"There is a bit of difference between a rigger with a nipper and a guy with 138 jumps and a swiss army knife...usually!" Lazarus_762 0 #9 September 25, 2012 just don't *hurry*...don't put a ton of pressure on yourself to be some kind of rockstar. Take your time, listen to your instructors, and if you make a mistake, don't beat yourself up about, just learn from it and move on...in other words, don't be like me Airtwardo:"There is a bit of difference between a rigger with a nipper and a guy with 138 jumps and a swiss army knife...usually!" skymama 37 #10 September 25, 2012 Welcome to the forums! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
stringtheorygal 0 #11 September 26, 2012 Oh boy...glad I'm not the only one. Thought about if for several years, finally jumped on Sunday, now I feel like I'm being sucked in! Planning my AFF now-- What the hell have I gotten myself into... Is your wife feeling the same thing? My husband jumped with me and though he enjoyed it, that was "it" for him. Eek! aeio540 0 #12 September 26, 2012 Quote Welcome to the forums! Yeah, she jumped as well. We walked back to the front desk and paid to go on Tandem 2 right after we landed. Hopefully I'll be able to go on that next dive soon. I've been watching videos online (both good and bad) and reading about AFF. We'll see how it goes. andy061 0 #13 September 26, 2012 I never thought I'd try skydiving, and like you, now that I have it's become an obsession. Good luck with the AFF! By the way, check out Namowal's blog, "Tail 'o' The Rat", there is a link to it in her post, it's brilliant :)The older I get, the better I was...!
