IanDownes 0 #1 January 7, 2013 So I have been lurking around the forums for some time now, and its about time to start getting involved! I'm Ian and I'm from Ireland. I work as a filmmaker and got into skydiving by chance, when I was shooting a music video at the Irish Parachute Club, people were nice, looked like fun so 5 days later I was in ground school. Finished that, and got my first ever skydive. Which scarred the absolute shit out of me. Moving forward I recently completed AFF, (only took me 6.5 months, gotta love Irish weather) Over that time I became a professional 'driving to the dropzone and not jumping and while looking at the weather type guy' :) But AFF is done now, and im delighted, I fall like a brick, so yea, have to learn how to work on that. Next jump is my first solo console, and i swear, i'm terrified, but its the fear that keeps me coming back! So yea, Hi, I'm Ian.

Trafficdiver 8 #3 January 7, 2013 Quote a professional 'driving to the dropzone and not jumping and while looking at the weather type guy' :) Welcome from another professional driving to the dropzone and not jumping while looking at the weather guy. You'll jump a lot more now that you're on solo status, and even more once you get your license...then it will be up to you to sit it out for weather...that's where it get's dicey. As for you solo, well, if on the first jump you swallow the hook, it's the first solo that really sets the hook in there so that you can't get it out. It's that awesome. Have fun. FlyingRhenquest 1 #4 January 8, 2013 Bwahaha! Hello from another guy who falls like a brick! Funny thing about falling at 140 miles an hour, when I do manage to slow down to 120ish, it feels really unstable to me! What are you afraid of, exactly? You have a parachute, and you know how to use it! You have another parachute in case that one doesn't work! What's the worst possible thing you can imagine happening?I'm trying to teach myself how to set things on fire with my mind. Hey... is it hot in here?
