Gaboury 0 #1 June 18, 2013 Hey there people :) Just joined these forums and also just started to skydive. Currently finishing my AFF course! Can't wait to skydive more but heh... money doesn't grow on trees :s Especially since I don't have my "real" job yet, I can't jump as I would like to. Oh well. 20 mins in the tunnel and 6 jumps so far, all went pretty well. (5 jumps with instructors and one completely alone) I love this! Jaimie PS: Anyone who'd like to see my AFF jumps.. lvl1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtYG-lMoKtQ lvl2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfmqzlQUZu4 lvl3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfmqzlQUZu4 lvl4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUeV60IKRNw lvl5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-2_N99_1wQ
NorrinRadd 0 #2 June 18, 2013 Hello! Where are you doing your training, if I may ask? And how do you like it there? My cousin in Montreal is looking around for a good DZ to learn at...any insight would be valuable :)Why drive myself crazy trying to be normal, when I am already at crazy? Gaboury 0 #3 June 18, 2013 I'm in Trois-Rivières, which is like halfway between Montreal and Quebec (like 1h-1h15 from Montreal). It is called Parachutisme Adrénaline Trois-Rivières. I like it a lot but it's a pretty small DZ... Like 2 AFF instructors and a couple of TIs (which are mostly AFFs aswell)... They have a Cessna 206 which can board 6 jumpers. I like it but keep in mind I haven't experienced anything else. They're 2 DZ related though... One in St-Jérôme, one in Trois-Rivières. St-Jérôme's one seems bigger but I haven't gone yet. All in all, I get along everybody and the instructors really answer all of my questions. Haven't heard of stories either about experienced jumpers making fun of beginners of any sort (I know some of them rode the plane down in certain circumstances) and they were very understanding. NorrinRadd 0 #4 June 18, 2013 Great...thanks! Nice to see you around here... I am starting my PFF here in a month. Perhaps we will run into each other (figuratively, I hope)! Why drive myself crazy trying to be normal, when I am already at crazy?
skymama 37 #5 June 19, 2013 Welcome to the forums! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
NorrinRadd 0 #6 June 22, 2013 I watched the videos. Good job! You looked apprehensive the first time, but the rest of the time you looked pretty confident. And nice rolls! Why drive myself crazy trying to be normal, when I am already at crazy?
Gaboury 0 #7 June 25, 2013 Yeah I was pretty stressed out on the first 2 jumps but when I realized I really had some control in freefall, everything settled alright! I can't wait to jump again, I'm at 9 right now!
