sooperheidi 0 #1 June 30, 2013 Hello! Let's just say that I caught the skydiving bug. Like, really caught the bug. I originally went to do a tandem with some family at The Parachute Center as a bucket list item, but was hooked. I gave it a week to see if I was overly excited about a new experience, but I just couldn't get my mind off it! Every time there was good weather, I would find myself thinking, "Oh man, I wish I could go skydiving again!" So I did. I have since completed another tandem at Skydive Utah and will be attending ground school this week and beginning my AFF course! I look forward to actually figuring out what I'm doing. FlyingRhenquest 1 #2 June 30, 2013 Oh yeah, you're hooked. Better get used to giving the DZ huge briefcases full of cash! Welcome to the forums!I'm trying to teach myself how to set things on fire with my mind. Hey... is it hot in here?
popsjumper 2 #3 June 30, 2013 Congrats! You are going to get a good chuckle at yourself the first time you look at a purchase and say, "This is going to cost 3 jumps.....nah" My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239

First, thanks for doing a tandem...tandems keep our DZs open for us veterans. Second, i understand your enthusiasm and everyone one of us has had them. But remember this sport is NOT a weekend thing, it's a lifestyle. Most of us work in the "fake" world so we can support this lifestyle. Trust me, you will lose whuffo friends (because you will be at the DZ all the time if you want this to be your lifestyle)... You will have horn dogs like me try to hit on you at the DZ because prospects are rare commodities. You will be poor..no matter what anyone else says, this is an expensive sport to start into (i say start into because of AFF, being current, tunnel practice if necessary, gear, jumps). There is no glory in skydiving, only personal fulfillment. All those youtube videos you see in slow motion and with awesome soundtracks is just that...glorifying skydiving. Skydiving is a personal fulfillment. Other than that welcome to the skies, hope to dive with you soon, hope to go out on a date if you are inclined to do so.
