Greetings from Idaho!

Just went on my first jump yesterday and am still smiling from ear to ear. I was doing some reading / searching to learn more about this sport and happened across this forum. Glad to know I have a place to ask questions when they arise (or search as they've probably been asked before.. ) Can't wait to get up in the air again!

Cool. Welcome to the sport and the forums! Are you planning to do a training course somewhere?

I am planning on doing a training course ASAP. I am pretty much smack dab in the middle of 3 different DZ's as well as 3 different styles of training so I guess I just need to look over which one I think suits me best and do it.

Free time is also going to be short here pretty soon for me as I have 3 houses to frame before the snow flies so I also have to see if it would be better just to wait until next spring to get started or try my hardest get 2-3 more jumps in this season.

At the very least though, come hell or high water, I will get another tandem in this year.

Congrats on the FIRST jump. You do owe your DZ and staff a beer ya know..might as well get into the culture if you're gonna pursue this sport.

OH, and perhaps take another tandem jump...with your eyes open next time..it'll be awesome I promise! B|

If only you could see the other pictures you'd really get a laugh... :)

Yeah, in Idaho winter could be a bit of a problem. I jumped all winter in Colorado and we had some skydivers from Wyoming/Montana come visit to stay current. If you're sitting on a huge briefcase full of cash you could just go vacation in Phoenix or Orlando for a couple of weeks and get your A license knocked out. Or maybe just find an indoor skydiving facility near you and be a tunnel rat for the winter. I expect I'll be distinctly rat-like this year. Not being able to feel your fingers when you hit the ground is pretty unpleasant. D license friend of mine won't jump if it's below 50 on the ground.
I'm trying to teach myself how to set things on fire with my mind. Hey... is it hot in here?

Welcome to the forums! :)

Thank you

GooniesKid

can you post the other pictures up? I'd like a good laugh :|

1st one isn't so bad, all I had on my mind was "head on shoulder, arch back, legs bent, hold on to harness until I tap you on the shoulder"

2nd one I don't know wtf is going on, haha. My best guess would be that I closed my eyes to the sun... maybe a blink...

On a better note though I called the DZ today to see when the next ground school is and it looks like it's held every Saturday at 8:00 am. Hopefully in two weeks I'll be able to spend the weekend there and get the ground school in as well as 2-3 jumps.
