dtthorne 0 #1 December 8, 2013 Hello to all, As with a lot of people, sometime life gets in the way and sacrifices must be made. Although I had to sacrifice jumping for a while, I could never give up my gear. It felt great to get it out of the closet and the process brought back so many great memories. I have been away from the community for a while and am very much looking forward to seeing some old friends and making new ones along the way. I am extremely fortunate to find myself transferred to Phoenix, Arizona. I had a chance to make it to the Skydive Arizona dropzone yesterday and couldn't pass on the opportunity to take advantage of a 15 minute opening in the tunnel with Jim as my coach. It was so great to be flying again!! So in a nutshell, I am now working in Phoenix and want to spend anytime I am not working at Skydive, AZ. I do not know a soul down here so I am looking forward to making some new friends. Hope to see you in the air!!!
Kat4821 0 #2 December 10, 2013 Man I know just what you mean. Same kind of sequence for me. Got certified, got addicted and life took over. I'm in the military so I had constant deployments and just got out of it. Then picked up racing. Now I'm laying racing to bed and coming back to the sky. I'll be in San Diego so I'll be out at Perris. Got a great coach on board that's excited to get me flying again! Glad to see you back though!
skymama 37 #3 December 10, 2013 Welcome back! I hope you'll be able to stay awhile this time. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
dtthorne 0 #4 December 10, 2013 Nice to hear you are getting to fly again too. I had so much fun in the tunnel and it really was like riding a bike. It all came right back. I can't wait to build my skills and get back to flying with friends. Have fun, stay safe, and hopefully we'll see each other in the sky!
dtthorne 0 #5 December 10, 2013 Thank you Skymama! Even though I haven't jumped in a while my heart and soul has continued to fly. Looking forward to a lifestyle change that includes some airtime!
Nightwing 0 #6 December 31, 2013 Hey there!!! It's been the same here. Skydived solid for +-9.5 years and then life kinda got in the way. Wife, daughter, house, car and other interests took priority. I thought I was only gone for just over a year until last week I realized it had been 2 years!!! Did a refresher this weekend during the Swakopmund Desert Boogie and notched up another 5 jumps. Was awesome to be back in the sky...although I never really left... Cheers and welcome back. Drags me down, like some sweet gravity... Nightwing has stirred, and taken to flight...the silence is over, he's shattered the night!!!
