What's up w/ Icarus?

Does anyone know the location of ANYONE from Icarus Canopies? I have been trying to get ahold of them for quite some time. We, (*Skydive Alabama) placed an order with them for a canopy that was due in May!!! NO CANOPY, NO CONTACT, NO CALL BACK, NO REPLY on email. If there is anyone that can tell me how to get in touch with Wyatt or a rep from Icarus, please let me know. I have a customer that has every right to get thoroughly pissed off and would like to avoid this if at all possible. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Unknowing attempting to take out all 4 wheeled vehicles remotely close to the landing area!

Screw that. Last time I had a problem with Icarus I fired off an email to Simon and had the problem fixed the same day.

I would call up Sky Dive San Diego as well if you cant get hold of Wyat through the service numbers.

He returned this weekend to San Diego being that he was in the PST in NJ...

You know, I really don't care about textile strikes and such. What really bothers me about this deal is that the company never said, we can't deliver until such and such a date. We never heard anything from them, not one word. We ordered this canopy in April and it is now the middle of July and still no canopy and no word on when we can expect delivery. If this is how they treat you when you order something, can you imagine if you have a problem that you needed fixed? This is the company that makes the "best canopy in the world"? They are a loooooong way from the best customer service.

Oh, it's a strike now? A few months ago when I was trying to pry away my canopy from them it was a fire at Performance Textiles[:/].

FWIW, it makes a huge difference wether you're trying to reach Icarus Europe or Icares US. Icarus Europe responds almost always immediately, Icarus US hardly ever (yeah, that's you Wyat).

Simon Powell from Skydive San Diego is an Icarus dealer and he's treated me uber double plus good. It was more fruitful dealing with him than trying to reach Icarus US themselves.

There are a few People at My DZ in your exact same situation. They were promised a canopy in Late May/Early June, and nothing. No calls back, no response to their emails, no nothing!

IMHO, this company is giving off some serious Red Flags here....[:/]

Alright, it is now three weeks later and still no canopy. I don't know what to say except - do not buy anything from these people! I would like to cancel my order but now they claim they have shipped it. I hope they have a booth in Rantoul because somebody gonna get an earful and do some splainin. >:( >:( >:(

This is the 21st century. Anytime anything is shipped, the customer has the right to expect a tracking number. If the shipper can't provide a tracking number, the customer is justified in believing the shipper is lying.

This is pretty odd, since once I finally got ahold of someone at Icarus, they were good to go, no complaints at all with their customer service from that point on. Now, I haven't tried to get anything fixed, etc, since I haven't had to so far, so I'm not sure what their after the sale service is like.

Dave, this is a new canopy - that I ordered in April. It is EXTREMELY difficult to get someone to respond to me and when they do they tell me lies. Why would anyone want to buy something from someone that treats them like this. I am afraid to fly this thing once I do get it. (I am suppossed to get it next week even though a certain big fat liar PROMISSED me I would have it no later than today.) It takes an awful lot to get me mad and I am here to tell you - I am PISSED!!!! I hope you guys are reading this as you were three weeks ago when this was first posted - I am extremely upset and you had better do something to appease me - and I am not talking free advertisement for you.

... YOUR WRONG.. unless you have time and date information you'd like to share? I got my first main from BigAir, it was delivered on time, and every contact has been quickly and professional replied to..including the 20minute conversation with Brian himself when I was still deciding on my purchase.. which included discussion of the merits of his compeditors. wanna take a shot in the open or back up your claim?

I think the real problem with this deal - lack of communication due to buying from a third party. I have said this before, when we ordered the canopy we were told it would be eight weeks. Four months later, I finally have my canopy. When we asked Icarus where it was, Wyat wouldn't give us a delivery date. When he finally did, he lied about it and delivered it a full two weeks later plus he promised to throw in some t-shirts. I get the canopy, no t-shirts. All they had to do was just tell us when they could deliver and I would have been happy. Instead they just don't answer or they tell you lies. I tried to talk to Hector about it in Rantoul and all he wanted to do was give me a powerpiont presentation of their factory in Spain. Pert of being a good communicator is being a good listener, Hector.

Anyway, I hope I never have a problem with this thing because as far as I am concerned they can kiss my big hairy butt.

Edit: Also, when Wyat knew he wasn't going to be able to deliver when he said he was, do you think he took the thirty seconds or so it would have taken to send me an e-mail and say, "Sorry buddy, I can't get it to you this week, I hope to be able to next week."? Of course not, that would be good customer service and they don't practice that.

I just wanted to give everyone a headsup on my experience with ICarus. After repeated attempts by my dealer and I to contact Icarus US, I gave up and sent an email to Icarus Europe enquiring if their factory had my canopy. That email went out at what would have been before their business hours. By noon in Spain, their production support manager had sent me a reply.

The reason why your canopy is not finished yet is the lack of silver.
We are expecting an delivery of silver next week.
If that fabric passes our quality control ( which it does not quite
frequently in the last few month`s ) ,your canopy should be ready for
delivery around 2 weeks after that.
You also have the option to change your color pattern ( erase silver )
and your canopy should be ready for delivery within 2 weeks.
This option need`s to be processed through your dealer.
Please except my apologies for the lack of communication in the US.

Wow and Grr at the same time. My dealer sent the order in on June 5th which means that Icarus US held on to it for nearly three weeks before passing it on to the factory!

Having seen a fair number of Icarus canopies, I can't wait to get mine, and I would do business with Icarus again, just not with Icarus US.
