baa75 0 #2 July 25, 2004 Ebay clicky You just have to know what you're buying is right for you on Ebay. Then again I've seen worse in a couple of popular gear stores. You at least expect them to have your safety in mind. Had I listened to a "sales"men at one, I would have been jumping a Diablo 150 (at 65 jumps) instead of the Spectre 150 I wanted! diablopilot 2 #3 July 25, 2004 Quote I would have been jumping a Diablo 150 (at 65 jumps) instead of the Spectre 150 I wanted! And the problem in that lies where? Lay one on top of the other. Then fly both. You'll probably fing the are not nearly as different as you think. From the Ebay ad... QuoteMy gear has always been very well kept and packed on carpet. I've always loved this one. Carpet is far harder on a canopy than grass......---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. riggerrob 643 #4 July 25, 2004 Take it from someone who has jumped Spectre 190, 170 and 150 as well as 70 jumps on Diablo 135: Spectres are gentle, forgiving canopies - well suited to junior jumpers. Diablos are the opposite. Diablos can get nasty, fast! If you deploy a Diablo 135 with one shoulder low, they will spin up NOW! That case of line twists was so bad I that my only cure was to pull red, closely followed by silver! Diablos are Stiletto-class canopies.

The swoopers can simply squeeze out the air from their canopies against their thighs or chest while standing. What is the best surface to pack on for the rest of us? hookitt 1 #7 July 25, 2004 Quotea smooth surface, like linolium, or painted concreteYou're leaving out one detail. Clean smooth surface. Besides, who scrubs the parachute across any surface. Carpet wins. Packing on smooth hard surfaces, sucks.
larsrulz 0 #8 July 27, 2004 QuoteI've always loved this one. Carpet is far harder on a canopy than grass...... I take that to mean it was packed under shade of some sort, where as many grass packings are not. Sunlight is VERY bad for both the Nylon and Silicone coating....no matter how UV or heat resistant they are. I got a strong urge to fly, but I got no where to fly to. -PF
