Mom of course, we HAD to get off at the next exit with a convenience store so she could use a real bathroom. As for the rest area stops disappearing, blind people aren't going to be happy about it. They earn money from the vending machine proceeds at these rest stops."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
akarunway 1 #3 April 7, 2017 JerryBaumchen Hi folks, A sign of the times: "Old-fashioned rest stops disappearing in Florida and other states." http://www.tbo.com/news/old-fashioned-rest-stops-disappearing-in-florida-and-other-states-20170406/ Just drove straight thru to Fl. from SoCal recently. Immigration check in bumfuck Tx. Shit behind an old pony express depot. La. Not a reststop stop one. Ms. welcome center was sweet. The nicest one is just outside Tallahassee. Mega picnic tables and bbq grills. 36 hrs. hauling ass. Even w/ rear ending some dumb bitch in rush hr. traffic in Houston. A c-note and she was gone. Or was it San Antonio. The trip was a blur. Jerry Baumchen I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. BIGUN 1,314 #4 April 7, 2017 I used to be a member of Florida's State Emergency Response Team. Not sure if whomever thought this one up has contacted FDEM for their input. Those rest stops are also emergency fuel, water, ESF 8 (Medics) stations during hurricane evacuations.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
