Is that you?[/Joke that will only make sense to those old enough to remember 1985] ***Every one of those "glitches" gives you experience and helps you relax the next time. Good point. I suppose repeating levels is more like custom training as opposed to "You dummy! Fail!" Obviously I need to devote more time to mastering the level five tricks. Plus I've learned a few things not to do. ***Sounds like you're doing just fine. Keep going and keep the cartoons coming. I really enjoy them. Glad you like them. I was fairly solid on the whole - but I already posted on Namowal's blog about the AFF level I finished spinning on my back, and having to pull that way. I remember a riser hooked one of my legs on opening. That hurt!

I put the bomb guy in as a reminder that, while the drop isn't as scary as it used to be (for me), I shouldn't get too complacent either. It's a fun ride, but I need to remember I'm not at Disneyland and should always be alert as to what's going on. I suppose so, but the container that holds them is pretty flush with the helmet edge, so it's not like it's a knob waiting to snag something. So Fear is too scared to go out the door? Thanks yet again. These are great (as usual). I had the usual "Ride Up Nerves" in the plane yesterday. I had to smile when I thought about your "Fear Noogies" because that's exactly what it was. The "Here and Now" of the jump is part of it for me. It was 15 above (Farenheit) at altitude yesterday. When the door was opened, it felt really cold. Once it was time to go, nothing else mattered but the jump. I didn't feel the cold again until after I was under canopy. ShcShc11 0 #74 October 31, 2011 Quote I've been posting cartoons about my tandem and beginning AFF jumps in the "Introductions" forum, but it's been suggested I post them here, even though I'm far from a liscenced skydiver. So if you haven't seen them, and want to follow my misadventures (I'm a natural chicken so this doesn't come easy for me) here they are. SkyDiving Duck: Chicken of the Sky SkyDiving Duck III: Parachuting School (Chicken of the Sky, AFF version) Skydiving Duck IV: Shakes on a Plane (AFF Level 2) Skydiving Duck V: Altitude! Altitude! Altitude! (AFF 3, attempt 1)) Skydiving Duck IV: AFF 3: Take two, with a Twist HAHA. Just read the first part. I love them!! Edit 2: " I reached back again.... ...where was it? The instructor nudged my hand in place. I missed it completely on the third try Oh no! I'd blown it. Now what? Should I try again? No! Time's running out. Next task!'' LOLL. My thoughts exactly when I missed it too. It was kind of like ''ah shit am I supposed to do it again
Andrewbrinkhaus 0 #75 November 3, 2011 Seriously love the cartoons! I live in the LA area too and hoping to start my AFF soon at Elsinore. Really enjoy the inside perspective on the program you're presenting with your commentary and drawings. I've done tandems and wind tunnel before but until I've worn the chute myself, I can only imagine. :) Maybe we'll get the chance to jump together once we are both licensed, safe and confident (relatively) skydivers. Keep 'em coming!Do not pursue happiness. Create it.
