billvon 2,991 #1 February 25, 2017 If you are like me, by now you probably have more girl scout cookies than you need. I discovered an alternative to buying yet more cookies - operation thin mint. Most girl scout troops support this; it's a program where you buy a box of cookies but they are shipped to US troops overseas. So if you want to support your local scouts but really do not need another box of caramel and chocolate covered cookies, consider operation thin mint. RiggerLee 61 #4 February 25, 2017 It's very kind of you to send cookies over seas and applaud you for doing so. But I must beg to differ with you. You can never have too many cookies. There is simply no such thing as too many thin mints. LeeLee lee@velocitysportswear.com www.velocitysportswear.com
theonlyski 8 #5 February 26, 2017 Having 'been there and done that', I can tell you getting some cookies in a random and unexpected care package is pretty dang cool. It's the little things that you end up missing. That being said, I don't think I've had GS cookies in probably 4-5 years, guess I don't ever see them selling them like I used to."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

The sales procedures have changed over the years. It's pretty rare for them to go door to door like in the old days. Variety of reasons, from both sides of the door. More common around here is to see the whole troop set up a table somewhere (outside a grocery store is common). I seem to recall a girl in Portland setting up a table outside a pot place and setting record sales numbers. If you need some, look up the local council office. Give them a call and I'm sure they can satisfy your needs."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." tkhayes 348 #10 February 27, 2017 I just pay it forward. I pay for the cookies and then tell them to give the cookies to the next person that walks by that looks like they could use some cookies. because my fat ass sure does not need them

There's a local grocery store here in San Diego that has three separate tables, with three separate groups selling cookies. (One by each entrance.)
