freeasabird 0 #1 September 7, 2004 I did a line continuity check on main today and discovered 2 C/D lines crossed on the right and 4 A/B lines crossed on the left. Line groups are fine through the slider grommets to the main (i.e. no A/B lines crossed with C/D lines) and the canopy flies fine (have about 25 uneventful jumps on main). Apparently this happened when the rapid links were replaced recently with slinks. Is it possible for this configuration to cause premature wear on the lines? Is there any risk for future malfunction? Thanks.-----
mjosparky 4 #2 September 7, 2004 It will probably not cause any extra wear and I doubt it will contribute to a malfunction, but malfunctions are unpredictable to a point. It is wrong and should be changed. If your rigger installed the slinks, find another rigger and have him straight out your lines. If you installed the slinks, redo them and get someone to check your work. Sparky PS: If you did not notice this in 25 jumps, maybe you should give more attention to you canopy check after deployment. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
