Hmmm. As amazing as that event was, as impressive as Cap. "Sully's" performance was, I feel like it deserves something more honorable than a hollywoodization.

I'd rather see the sausage movie. We all know Sully's a hullov a pilot. Let hollywierd rip up the true story.

wow, that's a stoop to low new levels. not sure how they turn that into a movie..... a 30-60min documentary piece on the History channel or something like that maybe, but Hollywood will destroy any shred of reality with this.

I've always liked Tom Hanks' work. Outstanding actor. I don't think he would do it, if Hollywood was going to destroy reality with it. At least wait and see the movie before jumping to conclusions.

The trailer made it appear that one engine was still operating and that he could have made it back to the airport. I don't remember hearing anything like that, I heard that pilots on a simulator could only make it back to a runway half the time

The beginning of the trailer also made him seem to be a bit nuts.

The true story was both engines went out after the plane ran into a flock of geese. His options were try to land at an airport in New Jersey (with a very hard landing if he fell short) or land in the Hudson. There was no other engine, or an option to return.

According to what I read the only mistake he made was to not throw a switch which closes some valves on the bottom side of the plane so it will sink more slowly in the water.


I really like some of the work that Tom Hanks does, Apollo 13 was about as close to reality as Hollywood would get, so I'm going to watch this one and look for the inconsistencies while also enjoying the movie.

That approach plate is genius.

I loved it all, but the "Cooked Goose Transition" is perfect.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good this film was. Sully wins.
