JohnMitchell 16 #2 October 25, 2016 Rickendiver Flying legend has flown west today http://blogs.mprnews.org/newscut/2016/10/bob-hoover-one-of-nations-greatest-pilots-dead-at-94/ Loved his airshows. Even got to fly in Ole Yeller once (with the new owner, not Bob). RIP
Rickendiver 6 #3 October 25, 2016 I loved watching his "Energy Management" routine in the Shrike. Dead stick aerobatics followed by landing and taxi up to the announcer stand without using power or brakes.
muff528 3 #4 October 25, 2016 I attended this airshow in 1968 and was delighted to find this video only about a month or so ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7JfQC4GHPc Hoover is flying the Cavalier Mustang about midway into the clip. Also there were Bob Fornoff and his Bearcat. & F100 Tbirds. :) RIP
yoink 321 #5 October 25, 2016 RickendiverI loved watching his "Energy Management" routine in the Shrike. Dead stick aerobatics followed by landing and taxi up to the announcer stand without using power or brakes. That video blows my mind every time I watch it and should be required watching for all parachutists - particularly speed-flyers.

airdvr 210 #7 October 29, 2016 Also saw him do his Shrike show at the Cleveland Air Show back in the day. https://vimeo.com/152663476 A friend put this up on FB. No mention of someone fueling his naturally aspirated plane with jet-A. Pretty sure he invented the fuel filler neck which prevents that from happening. No telling how many lives were saved by that. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
