Loved his airshows. Even got to fly in Ole Yeller once (with the new owner, not Bob). RIP

I loved watching his "Energy Management" routine in the Shrike. Dead stick aerobatics followed by landing and taxi up to the announcer stand without using power or brakes.

I attended this airshow in 1968 and was delighted to find this video only about a month or so ago.

Hoover is flying the Cavalier Mustang about midway into the clip.

Also there were Bob Fornoff and his Bearcat. & F100 Tbirds. :)

That video blows my mind every time I watch it and should be required watching for all parachutists - particularly speed-flyers.

A friend put this up on FB. No mention of someone fueling his naturally aspirated plane with jet-A. Pretty sure he invented the fuel filler neck which prevents that from happening. No telling how many lives were saved by that.
