jumper03 0 #1 September 13, 2004 Okay, so it just grazed my face, and caught my ear on the way by. Scared the beejezzus out of me. It was a sigma tandem and I was closing the last flap when the closing loop let go. *PPOOMP* *ZING* Next time I'll try to use more finesse, less force. masterrig 1 #2 September 13, 2004 Welcome to the club! Been there... done that. I was closing a Vector, while working on my Senior ticket. The pilot-chute got away from me and knocked my glasses off my face! You learn to watch your business. Vector pilot-chutes do have some force to them! f1shlips 2 #4 September 13, 2004 Welcome to the club! For me it was Talon2, reaching for a cypress pin, bloodied my lip. I finished that pack job a few hours after I calmed down.-- drop zone (drop'zone) n. An incestuous sesspool of broken people. -- Attributed to a whuffo girlfriend. Amazon 7 #6 September 13, 2004 EEEESSSSH.. newbies..... I LUV the gear today... my original rig had Two pilot chutes with nice heavy springs.... makes for interesting packing first thing in the morning after a night of partying or if you were hurrying for a load and had to get the suckers stuffed into all the flaps AND get the ripcord pins into the little cones. Suck it up mister and go jump

jurgencamps 0 #8 September 15, 2004 What if your closing loop breaks during exit? If your closing loop breaks during packing, you waited too long to replace it. Jurgen
meatbomb 0 #9 September 15, 2004 QuoteIf your closing loop breaks during packing, you waited too long to replace it. I believe that the closing loop in question was a reserve closing loop...unless RWS have started fitting spring loaded pilot chutes to Sigma mains? So it probably was brand new when it broke...Sh1t happens sometimes... Hasn't happened to me yet, and I'm not looking forward to it...particularly if it happens on my Teardrop with the metal pop-top cap...ouch! --- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii!
