npgraphicdesign 3 #1 December 23, 2015 So...I'll be in San Jose from Dec28 to Jan3rd, and looking to get a skydive in...well, looking to first get recurrent, THEN an actual skydive or two. What's the closest DZ to San Jose?
sdctlc 0 #2 December 23, 2015 Go to the Dropzone Page on dzdotcom and search.."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
npgraphicdesign 3 #3 December 23, 2015 Thanks a lot...very helpful. I'm looking for actual input from people that skydive at the DZs, not a just a listing.
sdctlc 0 #4 December 23, 2015 Well then, that is a much clearer question compared to what is "closest" What are you looking for as that might be a help to point you in a direction. For example If you are looking for inexpensive jumps then Lodi would be your choice. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
npgraphicdesign 3 #5 December 23, 2015 Good point ;) I need to get recurrent and do several fun jumps. That's...about it!

NWFlyer 2 #8 December 23, 2015 npgraphicdesign Good point ;) I need to get recurrent and do several fun jumps. That's...about it! Personally for those two things I'd choose either Skydive California in Tracy (closer to San Jose) or Skydance in Davis (farther)."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. flyhi 24 #9 December 24, 2015 Monterey Bay doesn't want you. You're not experienced enough for Lodi. I always enjoyed Bay Area Skydiving and Skydance. Wherever you go, call first.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.
Rickendiver 6 #10 December 25, 2015 Skydive California (Tracy) is closed for the holidays until Jan 2nd. Bay Area Skydiving in Byron is the closest to San Jose, but will only be open on the weekends. Both are great DZ's. Lodi is open every day, but is farther away from San Jose. If you're looking to get recurrent, I'd recommend Byron or Tracy

npgraphicdesign 3 #12 January 2, 2016 flyhi Monterey Bay doesn't want you. Quite an asshole thing to say... flyhi You're not experienced enough for Lodi. What specifically makes me not experienced enough? Low number of jumps, not having jumped for a while, or just some attitude from someone who has more jumps than I do? flyhi I always enjoyed Bay Area Skydiving and Skydance. Wherever you go, call first. See, this is good and polite advice. Thank you, your highness.
catfishhunter 2 #13 January 5, 2016 Your fine at Lodi. I love Lodi. Lots of people have sticks up their asses about Lodi and that's fine but Bill is a hoot and his planes haven't crashed and if they decide to fall out of the sky you got a parachute MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT Life is Short and we never know how long we are going to have.
