kbordson 8 #26 November 13, 2006 Mr. and Mrs. Rocket, Congratulations on the amazing new journey ahead. The blessing to teach this young spirit about life. There is so much that you will share with her; love, comfort, encouragement. There is so much you will give her; time, education, opportunity. Her life, at this point, is the open book that you start with your words and deeds. Use those pages wisely. Lauren Marie, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, young Miss!!!!! (I know, I'm one day late....) As a gift, I wish for you all the love, friendships and challenges necessary to make your life meaningful and full. May each day bring you something new to discover and something wonderful to behold. Enjoy Life, little one. Karen

lawrocket 3 #33 November 13, 2006 Here are some pictures. A couple of things are striking about them: 1) I think that my fatigue, frustration and all other things really show through in the way I look - so help me, I've never had pictures that show me to have such sharp features; 2) Erin looks amazing, as always (these were about 30 minutes post delivery); and 3) it's tough to get pictures of Lauren to show her features. She is different from her brother in a number of ways. Conor was a week late and was evicted. Physically, he was doing things that were advanced for a newborn. See the attached picture of him when he was about 2 hours old. Conor had deep wrinkles on his brow, giving him a look of sheer intensity. Lauren is a soft little girl. Conor was also picking his head up and looking around at less than 2 hours. Lauren just focuses (or tries to) on what's in front of her. She is quite calm. Also, Lauren has blue eyes visible through her squint, unlike Conor's big brown eyes that were wide open from the start. Lauren is a sweetie and soft! Conor looked like a mix between Yoda and Winston Churchill, and had intensity to his visage (my twin sister nicknamed him "Slugger") that made him appear like he was gonna say at any moment, "I'm warning you - don't mess with me, dad. I know people that can help me with my problems." Lauren is just too fragile right now to take a picture like the one of Conor. She's a couple of weeks younger than he was when he was born, which probably makes quite a difference, and she's not the stud that Conundrum's Aiden is, though almost twice as big at 8 pounds, 3 ounces. In a couple of weeks, she'll Lauren begin to differentiate in her appearance. But she's just so sweet and amiable (we slept pretty well last night) that I am thinking she's gonna be pretty great! Another diference is that she does eat more than Conor did. Maybe it's just a new dad talking, but I really get a sense of the personality to expect. We always knew Conor was gonna be, shall we say, self-confident enough to communicate his desires. I loved that about him. My wife is hotter than your wife. LisaM 0 #40 November 13, 2006 QuoteQuoteHow is Conor doing with the new little sister? He's adjusting. I think he's still in the, "what's going on" stage. He'll kiss her, things like that, but otherwise, he's engaged for the most part in benign neglect. She's no fun to play with, so why bother. The progression will be fun to watch. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
lawrocket 3 #41 November 13, 2006 QuoteI must have missed it somewhere along the way that a bun was in the oven! Yeah, Krisanne got it right when she said, "He had WAY too much fun dropping hints to go and make an actual announcement." I think a total of four people (all women) figured it out. I think I've posted dozens of hints in the last few months, from subtle things like my wife's "transitory" illness that lasted three months posted at the same time as references to her throwing up and posting in pregnancy related posts, i.e., Quote -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm not very good at being pregnant, my stomach can't take it for some reason. I lost 18 lbs. with my daughter and 11 lbs. with my son before I ever started gaining weight. I just threw up for the first 4 months, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Honey? Please quit posting as skymama... Posts about being super fertile and having only had sex with my wife twice, the second time being this past February. Krisanne was right - I was having too much fun insinuating. On top of that, there were some worries in this pregnancy that I just preferred to keep private in the event that things didn't go well. I just knew that if one of the bad possibilities did occur, I just didn't want to answer too many questions about it. I know there are some things that I just can't handle. My wife is hotter than your wife.
Muenkel 0 #42 November 13, 2006 Jerry, I don't know if it is just me, but I do see similarities between Connor and Lauren. Both, very cute babies. Chris _________________________________________ Chris

VanillaSkyGirl 6 #49 November 14, 2006 Congratulations again, Jerry! She looks like a sweet, lovely angel. Your family is quite blessed. On another note, thank you so much for the calls of support this weekend. It was such a pleasure to hear from you during our Walk. Physically, he was doing things that were advanced for a newborn. See the attached picture of him when he was about 2 hours old. Conor had deep wrinkles on his brow, giving him a look of sheer intensity. Conor was also picking his head up and looking around at less than 2 hours. Sooo, Conor picked up the ADHHHHHHD gene and Lauren... Quote Lauren just focuses (or tries to) on what's in front of her. She is quite calm. wasn't blessed with the ADHHHHHHD gene... Or perhaps she is the "typical" ADD girl, just zoning out??? Kidding aside, congratulations!
