ryoder 1,590 #1 July 3, 2015 ...then I pity the fool. In the "looking West" pic, you can see the entrance ramp backed up. In the "looking East" pic, you can see in the distance Hwy 40 is backed up due to the ramp. Hwy 40 was backed up a *mile* to the East from where the pics were taken. Traffic was rolling along at maybe 5mph."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. JohnMitchell 16 #4 July 4, 2015 Looks like I-5 every Friday and Sunday summer afternoon in WA state. It's to the point our DZ tells people to not bother coming out from Seattle after 1 pm on Fridays.
gunsmokex 1 #5 July 4, 2015 I would definitely have to move, the only time traffic gets backed up here is from tractors and combines.

It's to the point our DZ tells people to not bother coming out from Seattle after 1 pm on Fridays. Yeah, I drove out there for sushi a few years back. The traffic there would drive me crazy in a matter of days. It has the potential to get bad in Colorado, too, but I do a pretty good job of avoiding all the places where it actually does. When I was living down in Lafayette, I could drive around town on a Saturday and hardly see another car on the road.I'm trying to teach myself how to set things on fire with my mind. Hey... is it hot in here?

While better than the day it took my wife 3-4 hours to travel 13 miles from Bellevue to Seattle that was not an experience I was going to repeat. I know it's not THE WORST traffic in the country, but it's f-ing amazing sometimes. ..
ryoder 1,590 #11 July 4, 2015 The photos were taken around 1230 as I was returning from Echo Lake. The amazing part is that just 90 minutes earlier I took that same exit to go to Bergen Park, and the traffic was not not bad at all."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. oldwomanc6 60 #12 July 4, 2015 Ok. Have no idea what what you are all complaining about. I drove west on I 70 yesterday, and there was no problem beyond the usual left lane idjits . Oh, wait . This was coming out of Charm City. Nevermind . lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB
TriGirl 333 #13 July 7, 2015 Drove to Tampa Thursday night. Was making pretty decent time until I got on I-75 South. The road maintenance they do at night obviously did not take into consideration the start of the holiday weekend. Three lanes going down to one (no warning before the last possible exit). In 90 minutes I traveled 1.5 miles. In two hours that increased only to 3 miles total. I can accept that in some circumstances, but this was at 10:30 Thursday night! Didn't make it to the house until almost 4 am. It was worse for others. A gas station attendant at the next exit was trying to close, but had several parents with small children trying to get in for the bathrooms! SkyDekker 1,465 #14 July 10, 2015 Meh, I live in Toronto, that's what highways look like for pretty much 18 hours a day. Specially now with the PanAm games.
