Boston Mills, Akron Zoo, Lock 3 all closed on Sunday

http://www.wkyc.com/story/news/local/summit-county/2015/02/14/akron-zoo-to-close-on-sunday/23421961/

I get that the Zoo is closed and there would be no live performance worth watching outdoors at Lock 3...but Boston Mills ski resort?

They have to be able to get there, don't they?
They can't get out of their driveway, down their street or out of their town.

And they need somewhere to park at the ski hill, don't they?

Someone has to plow out the parking lot at the ski hill.

And all the snow removal/earth moving equipment is busy.

From previous experience, most major highways were closed during blizzard and snow hazard conditions.

Getting stopped on the closed roads wasn't always bad....we had shovels, ropes, come alongs, sand, skis, sleds, discs, chains.....
:)

Riding a towed shovel down a 4 lane road is rather fun actually!

That's like closing the pool because its too hot.

We used to do that, actually. I was a lifeguard for a long time, and if it got hot enough we'd close because it became unsafe for the guards, and nobody was going to the pool anyway because they'd rather sit in the AC.

I can only remember it happening twice.

Ah yes, but today's generations haven't learned to be prepared and self sufficient. All they know how to do is dial 9-1-1 on a phone and wait for someone else to come and save them.

I used to work at that ski resort. I remember several below 0 days at work too... so I agree- pussies! Granted that place isn't worth skiing even in normal temps so maybe it is for the best.

Agreed...but when the best terrain is a 3 hour drive it used to be OK just to fart around on. Maybe they were afraid their iPhones would freeze.
