cengland 0 #1 November 3, 2014 I guess he decided to pop in for a few pops An Australian man was charged after he purchased a new airplane, drove it down the road and parked it outside a pub, police say. Western Australia Police said the 37-year-old man was charged Monday with endangering life, health and safety. On Friday, the man purchased the plane in Newman, located about 1,200 km north of Perth, and was taking it home on the other side of town when he decided to stop off at the pub, police said. Officers were called to the scene and noticed the Beechcraft two-seater plane — which didn't have any wings — had an exposed fuel line hanging from its side attached to a jerry can inside the cabin to make it run. The owner, who doesn't have a pilot's licence, left the ignition on when he went into the pub. http://www.torontosun.com/2014/11/03/aussie-man-charged-after-parking-plane-outside-pub-cops

Struth! Even his parents said that he was an idiot. Sounds like Australian parents are brighter than most North American parents.
riggerrob 643 #4 November 4, 2014 His worst sin was leaving the ignition on. The public is not bright enough to understand that you can still start most airplanes by turning the propeller ... just like during World War 1. Not much point to fining him, just insist that he fly his next dozen hours with an instructor.
