Elisha 1 #1 September 16, 2014 So...looks like I had a 103 temp last night. Feeling better, but still feverish. I want go to my usual cardio-kickboxing class later today ("BODY COMBAT" for those 24HR gym people). Benefits/drawbacks about doing this later? I think the worst is behind me. quade 4 #2 September 16, 2014 ElishaSo...looks like I had a 103 temp last night. What is your temperature NOW. Further, there are TWO things to consider here; Would you be a threat to yourself? Would you be a threat to others? If your temperature is above normal consider the fact you might be fucking up other people's lives.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

And even lower yet since I took some ibuprofen. Good points above.
Southern_Man 0 #5 September 16, 2014 Wouldn't suggest that the above the neck rule is always a great guide, but if you have fever you should rest: Experts like to cite a rule of thumb known as the “neck rule.” If your symptoms are all located above your neck (stuffy nose, scratchy throat, headache), you almost certainly have a head cold and can hit the road or treadmill safely. If, on the other hand, you have a fever, congestion in your chest and lungs, or feel achy, it is probably a sign of flu, bronchitis, or another more serious ailment, and you should rest up"What if there were no hypothetical questions?" CorvusCrypto 0 #7 September 16, 2014 ElishaSo...looks like I had a 103 temp last night. Feel better, but still feverish. I want go to my usual cardio-kickboxing class later today ("BODY COMBAT" for those 24HR gym people). Benefits/drawbacks about doing this later? I think the worst is behind me. Benefits: increased fitness Drawbacks: if the cause of your fever was a blood pathogen then exercising could cause it to spread through your system quicker than your current immune response can handle and possibly make you sick again. Fever indicates your immune system was in full force. This likely means you used up a lot of stored energy sources in your body. This translates into fatigue, nausea, dehydration, and your body will take even more energy to get your blood pumping and he those muscles moving. This can also lead to passing out if you expend that energy quickly. Your body will be in full cooling mode to relieve the heat of immune response (aka fever). This means that if you start exercising you'll likely experience vasodilation which means you'll be more likely to experience headaches. Your immune system likely told your body to stop producing protein to prevent viral infections from spreading. This is the general cause of "fever aches" by it also means your muscles will take much longer to recuperate from strenuous exercise which means misery the next morning. Despite all that, you'll be fine. You'll just feel like shit for longer. Drink Gatorade, your body is already kind of working out for you. Edit:. And people around you likely wont catch anything since when you break fever you're not likely to be very contagious if at all but it is considerate, plus no one likes to see snot on the mat xD"I would rather be ashes than dust. I would rather be a majestic eagle riding a missile across the sky with sparklers than be an old couch potato." - Jack London (paraphrased)
