UKKid35 1 #1 October 24, 2004 Can anyone tell me whether Parachute Systems will respond to emails regarding a Vortex container made by Chute Shop? I tried emailing about a week ago but no reply as yet. I have recently purchased a used container but I don't have a manual or even the specifications. I've asked whether a manual is available, and what the specs are, in particular what size canopies are permitted. Model CS-VOR-170-40 DoM 25/11/97 Thanks
puffdaddy 0 #2 October 24, 2004 Parachute Systems is not known for their customer service. They make good gear but their service is pathetic. Try and contact Manny at manny@icarus.co.za. He is one od their dealers and should be able to assist you with some of your questions." Martini 0 #6 October 24, 2004 I hope you find the specs you need, a rigger should be able to help with canopy sizing with no problem, There are no absolutes in sizing. You will receive no help from Parachute Systems aka. Chute Shop, once they make a sale they don't want to hear from you again. I can't understand why anyone buys their products, ALL the other manufacturers provide great products and service. I take every chance I get to steer people away from Shit Shop. The flip side of that coin is Infinity made by Velocity Sports, they provide the ultimate in customer service. Start by trying different mains to see what fits, most experienced jumpers can give you an idea of where to start just by eyeballing the rig. You'll need a rigger to work out the reserve.Sometimes you eat the bear..............
Zoter 0 #7 October 24, 2004 I bought a new main from Chute Shops in February....had a few queries once I got it.....sent at least 3 emails to them...each received a reply in less than a day...with the answers to my questions Its not always black and white ...good or bad Experiences vary....... Contacted 'Marie' at Chute Shops...if thats any help to you.
UKKid35 1 #8 October 25, 2004 Thanks to all for your help and suggestions. Although my original email to "tech" at Parachute Systems was unanswered, I sent another to Mari at PS and also to a couple of UK dealers listed on their website. All three responded within 24 hours. The UK dealers both confirmed the permitted canopy sizes. Mari has offered to send a manual FOC, and guided me to their website for specs. I'm still a little unsure whether the Vortex II specs are the same since my rig is simply badged Vortex. It seems PS service can be variable, but I wouldn't want to complain just yet.
