I do not know if it would be a great venue for a wedding reception but it is a very impressive facility right off of Hwy 522 and Hwy 9. Humans are nasty creatures and learned a few hundred years ago the costs in human lives of large populations with a lack of effective treatment of their excrement. http://www.kingcounty.gov/environment/wtd/About/System/Brightwater/AerialPhoto.aspx

Krip 2 #9 April 11, 2014 Hi It's not as bad as you thinkShit flows down hill so in a lot of area's in the seattle metro plex the STPs are located on oceanfront property. This is high value property, as is the property ownersd by the neighbors in their Mc mansions. The STP facility's are fully contained in bldgs with carbon filters that all the air from inside the bldgs have to pass thru. So there is no potty water smell. Even air handling equipment located on the roofs are in sound proof enclosures. The STP at Edmounds Wa is by the ferry terminal a d looks like a park, with a water feature that is actually part of the effluent. West Seattle is another facility that was designed to fit in with the surroundings. When we lived in the midwest a lot of the STPs were located outside of town and the facilities were open tanks. Well this isn't. The seattle metropolitan area is densely populated, and they can afford to build state of the art STP facilities to keek the NIMBYs from bitching. IOW our shit doesn't stink. This is not the kind of plant like they have up in Snohomish just across the river from the airport and Skydive Snohomish where you fly over the scenic Lake Pee Pee Poo Poo on climbout to the north.... or fly over from a long spot when the winds are out of the NW which is the norm all summer long. http://binged.it/1hqirrt

Notice how the color of the material in the ponds changes the closer they get to the river. The cell farthest from the river looks like ....... The treatment plant at the airfield in Z- Hills across from the dz Is another example of a STP. Dont recall any odors coming from that one.Me bad Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is now being called Wastewater Treatment Plant (WTP) One Jump Wonder
