mattjw916 2 #8 February 19, 2014 try to find the old "Ghost Rider" videos... that guy was doing "speed runs" on the open highway long before GoPros and Youtube he did all kinds of stuff like get chased on purpose so he could film his escape and timed runs between cities at ludicrous speeds basically you'd need a helicopter to matchNSCR-2376, SCR-15080

So that's "Police Chase 186 MPH (299KM) Speeder In Victoria Highway Run". (Victoria, BC that is) That guy got caught back then I believe, a couple years ago. While I'm not into the motorcycles & youtube combination, my favorite is still an oldie, "Crazy Russian on R1 Going Against Traffic In Moscow At Insane Speeds". One link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzcCq6FIXSU There the action can be so fast it is hard for the mind to keep up ... on the other hand, part of that is due to the poor video resolution, which makes it hard to anticipate obstacles ahead. Craziest white lining I've seen.

Arvoitus 1 #14 February 19, 2014 At those speeds you might as well stand on highway dodging incoming traffic. Funny thing is though I'd wager most people who film these kinds of videos probably wouldn't try the whole dodging traffic thing.Your rights end where my feelings begin. davjohns 1 #17 February 21, 2014 I hate these videos. They make cage drivers think all riders are idiots. That leads some of them to think it is ok to cut us off or otherwise make the roads more dangerous. This is a bit like a skydiver swooping into a public event and filming it because they thought it would make them look cool. It makes everyone look bad. There are race tracks that are open to people for pushing the limits. If you can't keep up there, don't pretend you can ride by weaving in and out of cages.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
swisschris62 0 #18 February 21, 2014 If it makes you feel any better... I don't think you guys are all nuts. This particular type...most definately, but in all my years out here, it's a very small percentage that do this stuff. These guys usually scare the crap out of me. Here I am, off in my own little world driving along, when one of these guys blow by you with an engine screaming. You never see it coming and so far I haven't gotten used to it. Then you've got the ones going down the middle doing wheelies. Can't tell you how many times I've seen that going through cities. @Booger...yeah, a lane change or just something hanging off of a trailer, rv or a couple of 2x4's sticking out of someone's trunk ( oooh that would suck!) . Damn sure wouldn't see any of that in time.... Whaddya think....closed casket?
D22369 0 #19 February 22, 2014 about 10 years ago we had a rickyroadracer wanna be accelerate on valley mall blvd as he headed into town, his speed was estimated at 120+ when he impacted the mini van that didn't see him coming as she made her turn. killed her and him, the only identifiable part of the bike was the rear rim/tire which was in the drivers compartment - the side of the van looked like it was opened by a can opener. I really don't care if someone takes themselves out doing stupid crap, but risking others isn't cool. putting it on the track doesn't seem to be an option for some of these idiots unfortunately Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

If you can't keep up there, don't pretend you can ride by weaving in and out of cages. I always get so annoyed when cage-drivers say bikers ride like morons... Because sooooo many cage drivers drive like morons as well... They just don't realise that switching lanes (without looking) and entering traffic (without looking) and talking/texting (instead of looking at the road) is every bit as deadly as riding fast... Except that most bikers who ride too fast end up killing only themselves and most car drivers who don't pay attention end up killing others (bikers, cyclists, pedestrians, and even other car drivers/passengers)... The fact is that no one should ride/drive like a lunatic on public roads. Unfortunately, part of the excitement for these idiots is the danger - going on a race track would not be the same thing. But at those speeds, they are playing with their lives and others' as well.
