Where do you find this stuff??

Let's get back to the thread topic. Dead people.

I thought you were in the business of preventing those.:|

Our current house is 20 years old. Been owned by 2 other people. I know the last guy moved out alive. Our former house was built by us. I'm positive no one died there either. Not that I would mind, as long as it was cleaned up.

Not many people die at home in this country. Most give it up in a hospital or hospice somewhere, don't they?

Increasingly, in recent years, hospice care is moved to home when possible. Off the top of my head, I can think of 3 people I knew over the past few years who died in at-home hospice care. 20 or 30 years ago they would have almost certainly died in a hospital.

I did a quick google search and came up with this article from a couple years ago. Looks 24% of those over 65 die at home.

The full C.D.C. report shows similar trends in the broader population over age 65: a steadily declining proportion of deaths in hospitals (just over one-third in 2007, down from nearly half in 1989) and a rising proportion of deaths at home (24 percent in 2007, up from 15 percent in 1989).

As for the original question, I think the only reason I would care is if the death was some sort of sensationalized event where the home might be likely to attract gawkers.

My grandfather died in my parents house. I lived there a number of years after that and still visit regularly and never gave it a second thought.

Only if it gets me a discount.

…and yeah, I'm Jewish :D

Well, from watching "Breaking Bad" I learned you can get a big discount on a home by pulling out photos of the former meth lab in the basement.;)

Hi Lucky,

Would you want to know

I bought my current house in 1995. Not to long after I moved in I noticed a hole in the sheetrock on the ceiling of the garage. Looking down, I saw blood spots.

I have yet to enquire as to what might have transpired here.

:o

PS) I am thinking a previous owner might have been a hunter and hung up his deer to dress it out.

The skeleton may still be in the attic! :o
