Movie skydiving scenes

So there is a metal ring handle that resembles a reserve handle, right next to the cutaway handle that activates the main... Implying that there is a spring loaded PC. Yet that is obviously not a spring loaded PC. Further more, what if somebody missed the "main" handle and pulled the cutaway handle and didn't realize it? lol Movies are stoopid

After seeing these examples, "Cutaway" is looking pretty good right about now.

To be fair, movies exist for the entertainment of a big, varied audience - 99% of whom have almost no frame of reference for skydiving. In that context it makes sense for the filmakers to put the handle where they did.

Look at an actual sport rig deployment system from a non-jumper's point of view. Why the hell would you put that little grabby-thing all the way back there where you can't even see it? That's stoopid! :)
And at least the Bridget Jones scene features a real jumper doing a real jump - unlike that green-screen abomination from Shoot 'Em Up. :S

Really Great Footage! Even though the edit is hoaky as hell.

[facepalm]:S
Well, on the upside, "Point Break" looks a lot better by comparison. :D

BTW Someone needs to tell that chick that CPR breathing works a lot better if you pinch the patients nose.:S

Actually, it is stupid, but we lost that argument 20 years ago. [:/]

PLFking, it was from a Dornier G92. They fly out of Target Skysports, Hibaldstow (UK). That one is based out in Seville, Spain. There the same company that owns the one in Bridget Jones film.
At long last the light at the end of the tunell isnt an on coming train!!!
