2023, going to Mars for life

Recommended Posts

In my mind, I'll skip forward to 2033.
Let's say it happened somehow.
So now we have what? 10-20 people living there, reporting back whether it's possible to grow and sustain plants, animals and humans.
If it's only 10 billion, I'd give it out of my pocket. Even if it's last ten

Taking Earth as it is for granted? Really, really childish thinking for mankind
What goes around, comes later.

Can't we send criminals there first? Study them...see if they mutate.

Australia did okay...

Soooo... does that mean they did mutate or did'nt mutate? We did, We evolved better teeth and better overall health and sporting prowess. We became better looking too:)Where as those who went from England to the USA, also developed better teeth, but they Devovled in many ways:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r: Obesity, IQ, leisurely viewing habits etc..

Pass.

It's happened to me too many times. No sense in trying anymore.

I would get to Mars. I would leave the group and trek far away from the lander. I would stand on top of a rise as the sun came over the horizon. I would bask in the idea that no human had ever before seen this geography, had this sun on their face, stood on this ground. Then, I would look down and see a pile of beer cans.

Damn.
I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

There won't be people on it for a long time, we'll send drones and robots instead. The systems, equipment, and life support needed for humans is prohibitive, even for one-way trips.

I wouldn't be so sure about that:

He can eyeball whatever he wants to. If it's so easy to create a self sustaining system then he could throw one into earth orbit with no problem. There are no resources CURRENTLY HARVESTABLE on Mars that could be used to sustain or financially support the project, therefore it doesn't matter where he puts this thing.
