Boogers 0 #11 November 22, 2013 CrocYou mean like, say, from San Francisco to Boston? Seattle to Miami? Phoenix to New York? Think about it. This particular flight was from Cleveland to Cincinnati, and the team had a bus on standby to drive the players home. It's in the news story. Read about it. CanuckInUSA 0 #12 November 22, 2013 Why did the football team get on the plane instead of driving home? They did it because they thought they would save time. Why did Buddy Holly get on an airplane? Because he thought he would save time. If you knew for certain that your plane would crash given the weather conditions, naturally you would not board it. But planes do fly in bad weather, and this football team is not the first, nor will they be the last to get on an airplane during questionable weather in order to save time. LOL ... it is amusing listening to a bunch of skydivers debate this. Most of us have gotten on an airplane when we shouldn't have and these pro football players do NOT have a monopoly on being scared in an airplane. While bad weather was not in the equation, I remember being on a Twin Otter with a load of skydivers when right after takeoff one of the engines failed. The pilot did not panic, she told everyone to stay put, she was doing a go around and was going to attempt to land. Yes here we were on a plane full of skydivers, there were a few people who were scared, probably just as scared as the ball players. BTW ... we landed safely, the problems was diagnosed and skydiving operations resumed soon after the problem was fixed. If you do NOT want to risk dying in an airplane crash, then by all means stay on the ground.
