jgoose71 0 #2 November 2, 2013 I just got through reading the book. It was a Hugo Award winner and also did not suck. I hope the movie does it justice "There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." quade 4 #5 November 2, 2013 AmazonDid not SUCK... Agreed, but I was still hoping for more. The film seemed to soft pedal the book's major theme of bullying, which in one way is understandable since so much of that happens inside the kid's own head and this film is more about the visuals. I understand why certain things ended up being where they were in the film, but the end is very clunky. I was hoping that moment would happen a lot earlier and maybe the entire last 25% of the film offer a lot more introspection. As it is, that only happens for maybe the last 5-7 minutes? Seems unbalanced.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Also, Bean on the initial Launchi Shuttle and the lack of the broken arm scene were disappointingly left out.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

All of them need to grow up a bit more toward being young adults... before Peters role comes more to light. I would not be surprised to see a sequel as all of Enders team moves to their home regions and humanity gets back to business as usual.
quade 4 #8 November 4, 2013 Looks like it didn't make its "sequel" trigger numbers. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/enders-game-opens-strong-but-652869 Yes, that's precisely how Hollywood works. They know on Monday if it's "worth it" to continue the effort.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
