shropshire 0 #29 September 19, 2013 I think that Jan Akkermans version of Albatross is 'slightly' better than Fleetwood Mac.. But both excellent (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome
oldwomanc6 52 #30 September 19, 2013 There are a lot of good ones, so far. I think the best ones are significantly different than the original. Sometimes, it's tempo, sometimes it's style, sometimes it's genre. In that vein, this one is one of my all-time favorites. JackC1 0 #32 September 19, 2013 QuoteClaptons Coccaine - CLEARLY Nah, JJ Cale's original was better. Noah Guthrie's Youtube version of LMFAO's "I'm Sexy and I know it". By a very long way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsvlsuLau5c Maybe not strictly better, but a highly notable cover of the Pixies "where is my mind" by The PeteBox, if only for how he does it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhjA2nvVD7U

grandmaster95 0 #37 September 19, 2013 Boyce Avenue has some covers that are better than the origanl IMO. Mostly because they do all acoustic music. Check them out.Turn to the storm and say, "Give your worst, and I shall give my best."
g2gjump 0 #38 September 19, 2013 oldwomanc6I say, Yes! Most of the time they are not, but sometimes, it is. This one is one of a few I think is better than the original. Gary Jules doing Tears for Fears "Mad World" Anybody else have some they think are better than the first? I respectfully disagree. I like Tears for Fears to much

Andy9o8 2 #41 September 20, 2013 TrafficdiverI don't know if I would go so far to say it is better than the original, but Stevie Ray Vaugns cover of "Little Wing" is near perfect. John Mayer does a killer cover of Hendrix's "Voodoo Child". Suzannah Hofs and Matthew Sweet do a sweet cover of Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl". I think Crosby, Stills & Nash's cover of their good friend Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock" was better than her own performance of it. Bobby Troup both wrote and sang the iconic "Route 66", but Nat King Cole's cover of it is best. Clapton's signature "Crossroads"? Written by Robert Johnson in the 1930's.
