SansSuit 1 #1 August 15, 2013 The first step to stealing an airplane is to camouflage it. You don't think FedEx will notice one of their airplanes missing, do you?Peace, -Dawson. http://www.SansSuit.com The Society for the Advancement of Naked Skydiving

SansSuit 1 #3 August 15, 2013 oldwomanc6 Do you have any more details/backstory on this? FedEx donated the airplane to our airport (MKE) a few years ago for training purposes. Recently, someone decided that they didn't want the aircraft in FedEx colors anymore. Our department got tasked with painting it. I just had to get involved, so they let me climb in the cherry picker and take a few swipes with the gun. My boss is taking the pictures. The guy in the harness is like, "Get these goofs outta here so I can get my job done." The engines are out of it. Look close and you can see 2x4's holding the side engine pod covers. JohnMitchell 16 #6 August 15, 2013 Squeak and FedEx is fine with their publicity donation being repainted?? They might NOT want to be associated with a old B727 being parted out on the ramp. About as attractive as a Trans Am up on cinder blocks in the front yard.Funny, but as last Christmas approached and the package deliveries reached a feverish peak, I saw at least one old FedEx B727 flying thru my radar sector. That time of year they'll roll out just about anything that will fly and carry a bunch of packages.

There's an old retired FedEx bird sitting out at Lakeland airport that was donated so that people could hop in, cycle the gear and play with the switches. I believe they're going to stand it up so the gear will allow retraction, but I thought they were leaving the engines in it so they could play around with firing them up... though I'd hate to see the gas bill for spinning those fuckers up.
